China's Cao Yang headed in the winner 32 minutes into the second half. Jordan's team made several offenses later but failed to shoot any goal.

This was the first victory the Chinese team tasted since it kicked off the West Asian training tour, which had taken them to Oman for a four nations tournament, where they lost 3-1 to Oman and 2-0 to Iran.

The Chinese team has been regrouped recently and Yin Tiesheng, a veteran Chinese top-flight soccer club coach, was appointed as the caretaker coach to guide the team to play at least two Asian Cup qualifiers.

China will kick off their Asian Cup qualifying campaign on Jan.14 when they play the away game against Syria. Then they will takeon Vietnam at home a week later.
