Li Baijun was born in 1955 into a peasant family in the Yimeng Mountains, Shandong province. He began his photography in 1976 and has held personal exhibitions in Japan, Spain and France.

 

"People of the Yimeng Mountain" is a collection of pictures taken over the past 30 years by Li Baijun. Pursuit of magnificence and perfection in photography techniques is absent from Li's work, which is rather strange in a period of grandiose style. This series of pictures provide an open and affectionate portrait of the radical changes in the lifestyle and values of the Yimeng people. (Curator: Sun Jingtao)
