US women's basketball team completed its roster to the Beijing Olympics team in August, a mixture of new blood with old, said a news report on Friday.
The USA women's basketball team filled out the last three spots on Thursday, including two who have already won Olympic gold, Tamika Catchings and DeLisha Milton-Jones, and one Olympic newcomer, Kara Lawson, according to the USA Today.
"All the pieces of the puzzle now fit," Anne Donovan, the team coach, told the newspaper.
The report said that Catchings was named to the team after she was confirmed recovering from an injury on her Achilles' tendon in September.
Milton-Jones, who missed the 2004 Olympic Games for her torn knee ligament, felt "especially happy" to return to the Olympics, it said.
Lawson screamed out and broke into tears when she received the call informing her of attendance to the Olympics.
"My smile muscles are sore," she said. "I've just been smiling ever since I found out."
The USA women's basketball team, the three-time Olympic champion, has claimed to safeguard its gold in August.
