Cyclist Emilio Falla, the only sportsmen who will represent Ecuador in BMX cycling during the Olympic Games of Beijing 2008, has good chances to win a medal, the Ecuadorian Olympic Committee (COE) said on Friday.
The 22-year-old trains in the Center of High Performance in Switzerland before attending the Olympics.
Falla's walk to the Olympics has not been easy, since he had a lesion in his right shoulder for six months, which almost impeded him to continue his passion on the cycling.
"I can't stop thanking the Ecuadorian Federation of Cycling, that has supported me a lot," Falla said.
Falla will seek the gold medal in the Beijing Olympic Games as he has won the first place in the World Cup of Australia 2008.
Twenty-five Ecuadorian athletes will compete in Beijing, among them are Jefferson Perez, Rolando Saquipay, Andres Chocho, Xavier Moreno, Fausto Quinde, Miriam Ramn, Franklin Nazareno, Byron Piedra, Sandra Ruales, Franklin Tenorio and Hugo Chila.
