Researchers show that rats are actually kind and generous, contrary to the general impression they are pests, the Daily Mail reported.

Chicago University scientists housed rats in pairs and then placed one in a transparent tube inside the cage, and found that the second rat was distressed until it worked out how to free the first one.

The creatures also selflessly shared treats with their cage-mates. The roaming rat became agitated at the sight of its trapped friend.

       据英国《每日邮报》报道，人们通常认为老鼠是害虫，研究人员发现，其实它们慷慨友好。

       来自美国芝加哥大学的科学家将老鼠成对圈养，之后把其中一只关于笼内的透明管道，结果发现，它的同伴会很悲伤，直到找到释放被关者的方法。

       它们会与笼中同伴无私的分享食物。外面的老鼠看到被关同伴会焦虑不安。

       甚至，尽管没人教它们，自由老鼠还会学着开锁，试图释放被关者。
