Bless the beasts and the children, they say. May God also bless the people who dedicate their lives to saving his creatures, despite all the forces that threaten their habitat. There have been plenty of preachy, political documentaries with underhanded shame-on-you environmental messages over the past decade, mostly aimed at manufacturing large quantities of guilt. While some of those messages are more subtle than others, it's refreshing to see a documentary that shuns the guilt complex and tells a simple, beautiful tale of survival - without pointing fingers.

Their stories are touching and inspiring, but let's face it, the visuals are what make this movie. "Born to be Wild" takes you to places you've never been and makes you wish you had.
Beyond that, it shows you lives well spent in the service of the Earth and makes you consider what you might do.
