Wedding trends are always on the move but 2011 seems to be witnessing more than the usual round of variations.

The Internet has made its mark in the planning process, while vintage chic is making something of a comeback. And for some in the US, the latest trend is not to follow any trends.

Society is changing and technology is advancing. And the ways people choose to tie the knot are many.

As busy brides-to-be find it harder to plan for the big day, more and more are turning to the Internet to find the best planning services.

Here in the US, just like everywhere else, it seems the web has it all - from event designing sites to online florists.

Harmony WALTON, Bridal Bar, said, "92% of brides do research for their wedding with the use of technology and actually 85% of luxury brides find what they want for their wedding online."

Elegance is one of the hit trends this year. Lace dresses and vintage ball gowns are everywhere. But modern weddings continue to be popular.

Classic wedding cakes are also back, along with outdoor venues. The popular colors are eggplant and sapphire.

But to some, not following any trends is a trend in itself.

Sarah Thompson, Bride-to-be, said, "I'm surprised at how great of a trend having a rustic themed wedding is or a vintage or outdoorsy kind of wedding and I want the exact opposite."

Emily Graves, Bride-to-be, said, "I'd like to say I'm adopting no trends. In fact for example, I love Peonies but they are very trendy right now and I don't want to have such a trendy flower because it will look dated. My opinion is anything that is too trendy will look dated in years to come and hopefully this marriage will last for years to come."

Accessories to be seen wearing at this season's wedding include large belts and sashes in stones, chandelier earrings, headpieces on one side of the head and NO tiaras.
