An official from the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission said the gap represents the Chinese people's savings. I have to ask: Are the central SOEs banks? Who would be willing to put their money in accounts with them? If what you say is true, corrupt officials could say they are just looking after the government's money at home. I strongly urge this year's NPC and CPPCC sessions to establish a rational system for the distribution of these profits. |

Some netizens have suggested establishing a database of abducted children as well as a reward system for finding them, but I object. The system might turn into a means to cheat people of money. Also, big reward might stimulate more crimes and even lead to a new criminal industry. I think the reason why children are abducted is not the lack of sufficient ransoms, but that punishment for offenders is not heavy enough. Hence, it's necessary to amend the relevant clauses in Criminal Law to impose greater penalties. |
