城市女性生活质量下降

A new survey of women in 10 Chinese cities shows that the standard of living for urban women is declining. Urban women are also most anxious about rising prices, not being able to afford a house and low family-income, survey results showed.

《京华时报》消息，一份在中国10个城市开展的调查显示，我国城市女性生活质量呈现下降趋势。城市女性最焦虑的事情是物价上涨、买不起房和家庭收入低。大约70%的受访女性认为最幸福的事是家人健康，约66%的女性则认为是家庭和睦，约36%的女性则认为孩子有进步才是他们最幸福的事。同时，城市女性对工作满意度值不高，职场竞争激烈和单位裁员成为女性工作压力的主要来源。这份调查在北京、上海、广州、深圳等城市展开。受访女性平均年龄为35岁。

重庆大学生再学工农兵

据《重庆晚报》报道，为了全面提高大学生的综合素质和实践能力，重庆市要求70多万大学生在校期间参加不少于4个月的社会实践。大学生们要重点开展带薪实习、种树、学农、学工、学军和社会调研等活动。

肯德基遭遇客户恶作剧

《现代金报》消息，11月8日早上，浙江省宁波市一家肯德基店和一家必胜客店先后接到外卖大单，金额皆为两店史上之最，肯德基为1700元，必胜客为3000元。等两店的员工把订餐送到指定的天宁大厦时，却发现根本无人认领。此案仍在进一步调查中。

白云机场加大安检力度

据《广州日报》消息，距广州亚运会开幕还有2天时间，广州白云国际机场从今日起加大安检力度，开始对所有乘客实施二次人身复查，同时要求所有乘客脱鞋并放入X射线机扫描。

男孩涂赠送唇膏死亡

据《齐鲁晚报》报道，山东省聊城市一名6岁男孩因将零食“梦幻天使”内附赠的“唇膏”涂到嘴唇上而致死亡。这种进价仅0.35元的小零食上印有QS产品质量安全认证标志。

Almost 70 percent of women surveyed said the most important thing for happiness was their family's health; 66 percent said it was harmony within the family. About 36 percent said they get happiness from their children's progress. Low job satisfaction, fierce workplace competition and lay-offs all contributed to women's work pressure. The survey was carried out in cities including Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Shenzhen. The surveyed women had an average age of 35.

Chongqing students face new requirement

The Chongqing government is requiring more than 700,000 college students to participate in a "social practice" for at least four months in an effort to make them more well-rounded, Chongqing Evening News reports. Students may take up a paid internship, plant trees, learn farming or industrial production techniques or participate in military training, among other activities.

KFC, Pizza Hut duped

Two large delivery orders placed Monday morning on Nov. 8 to a Pizza Hut and KFC in Ningbo, Zhejiang Province, are now under investigation after no one claimed them, Modern Gold Newspaper reports. A KFC restaurant received an order worth 1,700 yuan, while a Pizza Hut restaurant received one worth 3,000 yuan -- both the largest ever for each restaurant. When staff delivered the orders to the designated address at Tianning Building, no one claimed them.

Guangzhou airport steps up security

Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport steps up security measures today as the Asian Games will open this Friday. Every passenger will go through a double-check process and must remove their shoes to have them x-rayed, reports the Guangzhou Daily.

Lipstick blamed for boy's death

A 6-year-old boy from Liaocheng, Shandong Province, died after applying lipstick that came with a bag of Menghuan Tianshi snacks, Qilu Evening News reports. Menghuan Tianshi, which costs 0.35 yuan, has Quality Safety (QS) approval.
