Garcia reiterated that Peruvian government firmly adheres to one-China policy and opposes any act aimed at separating China.

Hu said, in order to bring the China-Peru all-round cooperative partnership to a new high, China is willing to make joint efforts with Peru to strengthen exchanges between the two countries' governmental organs, legislatures and ruling parties, actively and pragmatically promote free trade area negotiations and cooperation in trade, energy, mining, agriculture, fishery, infrastructure, poverty alleviation, tourism, space science, traditional medicine and cultural heritage protection.

Hu also proposed that the two countries should intensify bilateral consultation and coordination at multilateral frontiers so as to safeguard the interests of the two countries and all the developing countries at large and promote the world's peace, stability and development.

Hu said China supports and is willing to actively assist Peru in holding the APEC meeting for the Year of 2008.

Garcia said Peru is willing to be a strategic partner to China, and further deepen bilateral friendship, expand consensus and strengthen bilateral cooperation in the fields of agriculture, mining, infrastructure, shipping and tourism.
