Six-party talks
All parties involved in the six-party talks on the Korean Peninsula nuclear issue should implement their promises as soon as possible, said Liu.
All parties should seek an early resolution on relevant issues, and quickly enter the next phase, as discussed in talks between China and the United States recently, Liu said.
The process of implementing the second phase action plan had been deferred because of some difficulties.
However, the Korean peninsular nuclear issue and the process of the six-party talks generally kept advancing towards the goal of denuclearization, Liu said. All parties were optimistic about this.
All parties agreed to push the six-party talks process, and China was ready to continue playing a positive role.
China and the United States exchanged views on Korean Peninsula nuclear issue during US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice's visit to China.
China's assistance in finding US missing servicemen
China will continue to provide assistance to the United States in finding the remains of its military personnel missing from the Korean War, Liu said.
Responding to a question concerning the country's agreement to open records relating to missing servicemen, Liu said, China had always helped the United States to search for the remains of missing soldiers on domestic soil.
Relevant departments of both countries were currently consulting with each other on launching military archives cooperation so as to help find US military personnel missing in China before and after the Korean War, Liu said.
The Pentagon announced on Tuesday China would allow the United States access to its military archives to facilitate the search for US servicemen never accounted for.
The Korean War started in June 1950 and ended in July 1953.
