Twenty people were killed and 30 others injured by a double suicide bombing in the restive northern Iraqi province of Nineveh Thursday, said a police source.
The local police source told Xinhua on condition of anonymity that two suicide bombers exploded themselves in a cafe in the Sinjer city of Nineveh province, killing 20 people and wounding 30others.
The cafe was severely damaged, said the source who first put the casualties at 15 killed and 16 wounded.
Sinjer city is located some 470 km north of Baghdad.
Nineveh province is said to be one of the last strongholds of al-Qaida fighters in the war-torn country.
Sporadic attacks continue in Baghdad and other Iraqi cities and towns after U.S. combat forces pullout.
