The celebration to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations is an important part of Hu's visit to Russia.
On this occasion, the Chinese president delivered a key-note speech and summarized the development of the Sino-Russian ties from such perspectives as political relations, pragmatic cooperation, friendship between the two peoples, and international cooperation.
Hu said the 60 years of the development of the bilateral ties have revealed that both sides should maintain mutual trust, understanding, respect and support as well as maintain equality and mutual benefit, and treat each other with sincerity.
The two countries should also seek common ground while shelving differences and conduct friendly consultation, Hu added.
Hu said both sides should demonstrate sincerity and mutual trust, strive for a mutually beneficial win-win situation, develop friendship for generations to come, and conduct close cooperation, in a bid to jointly create a beautiful future for the Sino-Russian ties.
Medvedev said in his speech that the development of the Russia-China relations has set a good example for the development of bilateral ties. The Russian side is willing to deepen its relations with China in various fields
During the visit, Hu also met with Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin and Chairman of the Russian State Duma Boris Gryzlov. The leaders exchanged in-depth views on major international and regional issues of common concern and reached important consensus.
