State Councilor Meets Special Envoy of Moroccan King

State Councilor Tang Jiaxuan met in Beijing on Thursday afternoon with Taib Fassi Fihri, special envoy of the King of Morocco.

 

Tang said China-Morocco relations have developed smoothly and have a good political foundation and good prospects.

 

He noted that President Hu Jintao will soon pay a state visit to Morocco and the two heads of state will have in-depth discussions on strengthening bilateral cooperation in various fields.

 

The visit fully reflects the great importance China attaches to the development of relations with Morocco, Tang said, adding that the visit will promote the continuous development of friendly cooperation between the two countries in all fields.

 

Fihri spoke highly of the achievements China has made and praised the important role China has played in international affairs.

 

He said the King of Morocco and the Moroccan people look forward to the visit by President Hu Jintao and believe the historic visit will greatly promote the development of bilateral relations.

 

Fihri said Morocco supports China's efforts in safeguarding state sovereignty and territorial integrity.

 

The two sides also exchanged views on some regional issues.
