Wang Shengjun says in 2008, the Supreme People's Court handled over 10-thousand cases, up nearly 30 percent from 2007. Local courts concluded over 10 million cases, up nearly 11 percent.
Wang says the Supreme People's Court has worked to ensure the implementation of measures adopted by the central government to weather the global financial crisis. The court offered judicial guidance opinions on guaranteeing creditors' rights, punishing those committing illegal financial acts, and promoting the healthy growth of enterprises.
