A female citizen surnamed Luo, living at Nanchang, Jiangxi province, has worn sunglasses while cooking lunch for the past three years.

She did not do this for fashion. An iron commercial signboard outside her window strongly reflected the noon sunlight into her kitchen, affecting her eyes.

Sunlight normally poured in about 11 am and did not fade until 2 pm. The situation became worse in summer as the days grew longer and the glare stronger.

The signboard in question belongs to a bookstore under the stairs. The store's owner admitted the inconvenience the board had caused Luo but offered no solutions.

Local lawyer Li Zhuqing said the bookstore had violated Luo's neighboring right and she could ask the owner to remove the signboard.
