Spring has sprung at Club Bonbon with a March program featuring a diverse lineup of cutting-edge DJ talent. Starting tomorrow through the end of March, fans of the all-you-can-drink party venue will have a chance to get down to knee-wobbling UK drum and bass, throbbing New York house, and blistering German electro.
After last month's inaugural Hospitality Shanghai drum and bass event, local production crew Phreaktion return to Bonbon tomorrow night with two icons of the world of drum and bass: Matrix & Futurebound, who are responsible for arguably the drum and bass album of the year Universal Truth. The album has enjoyed much praise and massive success, instigating their first ever Asia tour including six Asian cities. Hosted by MC Stride - Matrix & Futurebound promises an exhilarating night filled with hauntingly beautiful drum and bass anthems.
Matrix a/k/a Jamie Quinn forged an early path into the drum and bass scene through seminal releases on DJ SS's New Identity Recordings before launching his own Metro imprint in 1997. His seminal long player, Sleepwalk on Virus showed that there was more to this producer than simply the 12" format and his remixes of tracks like "Medicine" (Ed Rush & Optical), "Phone Call" (Klute) and Kirsty Hawkshaw's "Leafy Lane" have become timeless classics. In recent years he's also climbed to the top of the pop charts as part of the Goldtrix production team with "Trippin (It's Love)."
From the very outset of dance culture, and right up to the present day, Brendan Collins, AKA DJ/Producer Futurebound, has steadily developed an almost unsurpassable reputation for tearing up dancefloors on a worldwide scale.
Spring kicks in full-swing the following week with a special Godskitchen (GK) Angel party next Friday featuring one of the pillars of New York house music Harry "Choo Choo" Romero.
