HK's Victoria Harbor Decorated by Dazzling Lights

The Victoria Harbor of Hong Kong, famous for its night scenery, will become more attractive with dazzling lights as the Christmas, New Year and traditional Chinese Spring Festival are coming.

A preview of "A Symphony of Lights," a new tourism project, was staged at the harbor Saturday night. And the project will be formally launched next month as permanent showcase for Victoria Harbor's celebrated night-time vista.

Hong Kong's Financial Secretary Henry Tang said at the preview that combining the latest technology with dazzling lighting, "A Symphony of Lights" is the fruit of the joint efforts of different partners from the public and private sectors. The tourism trade will play a key role to exploit its long-term potential.

"A Symphony of Lights" is a world class multi-media light and sound show. It combines special interactive light and musical effects to tell the story of Hong Kong through showcasing 18 key buildings along the waterfront of the Victoria Harbor.

To mark the launch of this unique tourism project which is the first of its kind in the world, the show will also feature pyrotechnic displays on the rooftop of ten buildings for the first month from official launch on Jan. 17.
