The Business Opportunities with Innovative Enterprises from Shanghai Forum held in Hong Kong Thursday to provide a platform for business matching and technology collaboration between Hong Kong and companies from the Chinese mainland.
It is the second year for the forum to be held, which is jointly organized by the TechMart of the Hong Kong Productivity Council (HKPC) and the Shanghai Technology Stock Exchange. Latest technology projects from Shanghai were introduced at this forum.
Speaking at the opening ceremony of the forum, Stephen Lee, Branch Director (Environment & Product Innovation) of HKPC, said, "As a key industrial city in the mainland, Shanghai has made tremendous progress in research and product development."
"With the implementation of the Closer Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA), which is anticipated to facilitate economic and technology exchange between Hong Kong and mainland enterprises, Hong Kong businessmen should capitalize on Shanghai's strategic location to further develop market in northeast China while providing support to companies in the mainland through their capabilities in product commercialization and international marketing," Lee said.
During the forum, senior management of technology enterprises from Shanghai presented their projects to local investors, industrialists, product developers, technology buyers, product and licensing distributors for potential partnership.
These projects covered industries related to energy technology, electrical engineering, food processing, metal manufacturing and environmental management.
The TechMart was established in 2000. It provides one-stop services to assist Hong Kong companies in developing new designs and innovative ideas into industrial process and products.
