Hong Kong is getting ready for an onslaught of tourists over the Spring Festival holiday season. The Special Administrative Region expects a record high of 660-thousand tourists during the week-long holiday.
Nearly 70 percent of these visitors will come from the Chinese mainland, an increase of ten percent over last year.
More travellers from abroad, particularly from Japan and South Korea, are also expected. The local government has made sure that these visitors will have convenient journeys in and out of the region.
And with the majority of tourists heading to the city to shop, most stores will remain open during the holiday.
