Hong Kong Post Sunday issued the "Year of the Rooster" special stamps to celebrate the coming Chinese Lunar New Year, which falls on Feb. 9.
To tie in with the Lunar New Year atmosphere, a group of little dancers performed a "chick dance" before the ceremony started. Besides, distribution of "Lucky Candy" by the "God of Wealth", demonstration of calligraphy and free distribution of Spring couplets were also available.
Hong Kong's Postmaster General, Allan Chiang, said at the ceremony that Hong Kong Post is no longer a sole postal operator but a caring organization that offers different services for every walk of life.
"To cater for the common and specific needs of the general public and our business partners, we always strive to provide the best service to them," he noted.
"In other words," he said, "we take both pragmatic and proactive approaches to face the challenges and we do succeed in capitalizing on our comprehensive network for new services, such as international fulfillment, electronic trade declaration, collection of bill payment, etc."
