Beijing Airport to Reopen Next Month

After fourteen months of renovation, Beijing's Capital International Airport or BCIA will reopen next month after being closed for five years.

The new terminal will be jointly operated by the BCIA and China Southern Airlines based on their cooperative agreement signed last year.

All domestic flights of China Northern Airlines, Xinjiang Airlines, Xiamen Airlines and CSA will move to the new terminal. Sichuan Airlines will also gradually move its flights to the new terminal.

China Southern now operates 37 air routes to Beijing. It's estimated that over 8 million passengers will arrive at or depart from BCIA by 2008.
