Expansion of Capital International Airport Starts

The expansion project of Beijing Capital International Airport has broken ground.

The country's biggest airport already boasts two parallel runways and two terminal buildings. And the construction of a Terminal 3 building, a traffic center and a flying zone will be undertaken in the project.

The T3B main building is reportedly being designed as the air terminal for international flights.

The construction is expected to be finished by the end of 2007 in a bid to meet the increasing demand of the 2008 Olympics.

It is predicted that the peak passenger flow per month during the 2008 Olympics will hit over 5 and a half million.
