Thailand's Deputy Prime Minister Suriya Jungrungrattanakul and the Thai Senate President Suchon Chaleekure, separately met in Bangkok on Tuesday with Wang Zhongyu, vice chairman of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) National Committee. They exchanged views on the friendly bilateral ties between the two countries and the two governments.
Suriya said China is the good neighbor, good friend and good partner of Thailand. In the past 30 years after the establishment of diplomatic relations between Thailand and China, the two countries and the two peoples have already established friendly relations marked by mutual trust, mutual understanding and mutual support.
He spoke highly of the friendly exchanges between the ruling Thai Rak Thai Party and the Communist Party of China (CPC). He said exchanges between the two parties and the two governments benefits the two peoples and the two countries.
Suchon expressed the desire to enhance the communion between the Senate of the Kingdom of Thailand and the CPPCC.
Wang, also the president of the China Economic and Social Council, said the Sino-Thai relations are deeply rooted and are as inseparable as relatives and brothers.
In the past three decades, Wang said, the two partners are playing harmonious and cooperative roles in the regional and international affairs. The bilateral cooperation should go further in the fields of politics, economics, culture and so on.
After the talks, Wang also met with Suchart Tonjaroen, First Deputy Speaker of the Thai House of representatives.
The CPPCC delegation headed by Wang Zhongyu arrived in Bangkok Saturday on a five-day official goodwill visit.
