Presidents Exchange Greetings on 30th Anniversary of Sino-MozambicanTies

Chinese President Hu Jintao and his Mozambican counterpart Armando Emilio Guebuza on Saturday sent each other congratulations on occasion of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between the two countries.

Hu said in his message that bilateral relations between China and Mozambique have developed smoothly over the past three decades, with continuous deepening of mutual understanding and trust and fruitful bilateral cooperation.

The two countries have kept consultation and coordination in regional and international affairs, jointly safeguarding the interests of the developing countries, he said.

The Chinese government and people cherish the traditional friendship with Mozambique, willing to work together with the Mozambican side to push the friendly and cooperative Sino-Mozambican relations to a new high, Hu said.

For his part, Guebuza said the mutually beneficial cooperation with China has been remarkably enhanced over the past 30 years with the intensification of exchanges in various fields, which has greatly promoted the mutual beneficial cooperation, and the two countries have also coordinated closely in safeguarding world peace and security.

Mozambique is grateful to the Chinese government and people for their support and aid to Mozambique's development over a long period of time, Guebuza said, adding that he hopes the friendly cooperative relations between the two governments and two peoples will be further promoted.
