Wang Zhaoguo, president of the All-China Federation of Trade Unions, said in Beijing Tuesday that China is willing to improve the traditional friendship and cooperative relations with the Confederation of Cuban Workers.
Wang, also member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, made the remarks at a meeting with Pedro Ross Leal, general secretary of the Confederation of Cuban Workers.
Wang said the Cuban people have made great achievements in the socialist revolution. The peoples and the workers' unions of China and Cuba have always enjoyed a deep friendship.
He said China and Cuba are complementary in many aspects of national construction, adding that there exist broad prospects for bilateral cooperation.
Ross said the Cuban people are pleased to note China's achievements in economic and social development.
He hoped the workers' unions of the two sides would increase exchanges and strengthen solidarity so as to contribute to national construction and world peace.
Ross is on a visit to China as the guest of the All-China Federation of Trade Unions.
