Secretary of the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Wu Guanzheng Wednesday called for the consolidation of an effective discipline inspection system in accordance with the requirements of the important thought of Three Represents.
Wu, also a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, stressed the supervisory work within the Party under the guidance of the "Three Represents" at a discipline inspection work conference held by the commission and the Organization Department of the CPC Central Committee.
Wu urged a stronger sense of political responsibility among Party leaders at all levels as well as more stringent supervision of their work, especially with regard to the leading officials, to ensure that they work for the people with the power entrusted to them by the people.
Discipline inspection is of great importance to improve supervisory work within the Party, to urge Party leaders to exercise self-discipline and to refrain from corruption, Wu said.
Wu also highlighted the political and policy importance of the inspection work and called for enhanced leadership and effective policies to ensure that the inspection work proceeds smoothly.
In recent years, 10 inspection teams have been sent to supervise work in 20 provinces and regions, as well as in six departments of the central authorities.
