Luo Gan, a member of the Political Bureau Standing Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, emphasized the consolidation of public security to guarantee a sound environment for building a well-off society in an all-around way.
Luo, also secretary of the Political and Legislative Affairs Committee of the CPC Central Committee, made this remark Tuesday while making inspections in south China's Guangxi Province.
Luo pointed out that the maintenance of social security and market economic order with effective prevention and penal measures could greatly promote the development of advanced productive forces.
He also called for the strengthening of legal and ethical education in a bid to curb vice and boost the popularization of advanced cultures.
He added that measures for social security could also contribute to the protection of lives and properties, which would favor the realization of people's essential interests.
Luo hoped Guangxi would have a clear awareness of the significance of public security as well as correct relationship among reform, development and stability.
