Beijing Police Launch New Crackdown on Criminals
Local police in Beijing have launched a new crackdown on criminals with the aid of a new wireless network which provides links between different police units.

In addition, some advanced technologies and systems are being used to help police check fingerprints and other pertinent information with regard to suspects.

Thousands of police officers have participated in the new action, which began on Wednesday and whose aim is to maintain a sound environment for public security and social stability.

The new crackdown action is part of the ongoing Strike-Hard Campaign, according to a police officer with the municipal public security bureau.
