The Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) announced in Beijing on Saturday that there will be many events this year to commemorate the 60th anniversary of victory in China's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and World War II.
As well as a commemorative ceremony, there will be a large exhibition and seminar to which overseas patriots, generals and soldiers and their families, international friends who helped fight and their families will be invited.
Special movies and TV series will also be screened, and stamps and coins issued.
According to the notice, activities will focus on the historical significance of the eight-year War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression.
It said the events would spotlight the contribution of the Anti-Japanese United Front established at the suggestion of the CPC to lead the whole nation to victory.
