Fourteen British servicemen wounded in Iraq war have been flown back home late Sunday, local reports quoted a British military spokesman as saying on Monday.
The casualties were flown into Exeter airport in Devonshire in western England after a seven-hour flight from Cyprus, where Britain maintains two military bases, the spokesman said, adding that 10 of them were allowed to reunite with their families.
Another four went straight into hospital for further treatment.
Britain, which has deployed about 45,000 troops to the Gulf for this US-led war against Iraq, has so far lost 24 servicemen since the war began on March 20.
Of the 24 dead, five have been killed in action, 14 in accidents and five in so-called "friendly fire" incidents.
