Victory Day for South Division Teams

The Beijing Ducks, in their second loss on the CBA season, were defeated by host Jiangsu Dragons 107-93 yesterday.

Zhang Cheng chipped in a game-high 27 points, including seven 3-pointers, for Jiangsu, who has won four straight games, standing at the third in the Southern Conference.

All-star center Tang Zhengdong erupted for 26 points, 16 rebounds and 2 assists and Dixon Carlos had 26 points and 8 rebounds in the win.

Burton Nat of Beijing was on the DNP roster due to his ankle injury. Mengke Bateer topped the Ducks with 26 points, 8 rebounds and 3 assists. Point guard Zhang Yunsong scored 22 with five assists while forward Chen Lei added 10 in the loss.

This was the finale of a four-game road trip for the Ducks, being 2-2 on the swing. They have won eight of their last ten games and still stand atop the Northern Conference.

Li Nan drilled 42 points as the Bayi Rockets downed Jilin Northeast Tigers 107-93.

Dixon Jason and Yi Jianlian combined for 44 points to lead Guangdong to a 89-86 road win over Shandong.

In other games, Dongguan beat Henan 131-113, Fujian trounced Shaanxi 102-84 and Yunnan upset Xinjiang 109-102.
