Hong Kong Arts Groups to Raise Money for SARS Victims
Six major performing arts groups in Hong Kong announced Tuesday they will join forces for the first time in a special performance to raise money for "We Care Education Fund" which aims to help children affected by SARS.

The six arts groups include Chung Ying Theater Company, City Contemporary Dance Company, Hong Kong Ballet, Hong Kong Sinfonietta, Theater Ensemble and Zuni Lcosahedron.

Helen Ng, chief executive officer of Hong Kong Ballet, said all the revenues from the special performance "Arts Relief For SARS," which will be held at the Hong Kong City Hall next Friday, will be donated to the fund.

"We have expected to have a revenue of about HK$100,000 (US$12,821) from the performance. But the booking is so good that we expect to get some HK$ 300,000 to 400,000 (US$38,462 to 51,282)," she said.

The fund, launched by four female officers in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region government on May 2, has received more than HK$25 million (US$3.2 million) so far.
