South China's Guangzhou Launches First Regional English TV Channel

China's first regional English TV channel started broadcasting on Tuesday in Guangzhou, capital of the southern Guangdong Province.

The channel is broadcast to the entire south of China and mainly deals with news and stories around the Pearl River Delta.

The new English channel will broadcast for 18 hours every day and the programs are divided into four parts: news, information, culture and entertainment.

Currently, about 300,000 foreign people are working and living in Guangzhou and the channel will provide them with timely information on the political, economic, cultural and living information in the city and the nearby places.
