The Italian group Gen Rosso has brought their ideas of love and peace to China, with performances in both Tianjin and Beijing. Combining every imaginable performing art, the group was established in 1966 to spread joy and understanding across the world.
Gen Rosso were invited to China to take part in this year's Tianjin International Children's Culture and Arts Festival. The group's 20 young performers also took a day off from their busy schedule to delight Beijing audiences with a special one-night show.
In their thirty-eight-year history, the group has given nearly 2,000 shows in over 40 countries. Most of their shows are charitable, and they mainly perform for the under-privileged in places like prisons and slums. Their aim is to promote peace wherever they go.
Another of the group's aims is cross-cultural exchange. To this end, they incorporate music and dance from different peoples across the world, making their performances a rich and multi-cultural tapestry.
