Minister of the Israeli Embassy in China Ilan Mor said in Lhasa Thursday that Israel hoped to strengthen agricultural cooperation with Tibet.
Losang Toinzhub, vice chairman of the people's government of the Tibet Autonomous Region, briefed Mor on Tibet's agricultural development in recent years.
Mor, who is on his first visit to Tibet, said he had noticed many uncultivated sandy areas there which showed great agricultural potential and suggested both countries cooperate over crop research, the development of sandy areas and water conservancy.
Losang Toinzhub said he believed the two sides had the potential for agricultural cooperation, and he hoped this visit would boost such cooperation.
It is understood that Israel and Tibet have previously exchanged agricultural expertise.
