Vice-President Arrives in Washington

Chinese Vice-President Hu Jintao arrived in Washington Tuesday morning (April 30) from New York to continue his official visit to the United States at the invitation of Vice President Richard Bruce Cheney.

At the Andrews military airport, Vice-President Hu was greeted by Assistant Secretary of State James Kelly. Also present at the airport to welcome Hu were Chinese Diplomat He Yafei and other Chinese officials.

During his stay in the US capital, Hu will meet and hold talks with President George W. Bush, Vice President Cheney and other American leaders to have in-depth exchanges of views on Sino-US relations and the current international situation.
