Tropical Storm Megkhla May Return to South China
Tropical storm Megkhla is currently moving northward towards Guangdong and Guangxi and could possibly touch down in South China again, warned the China Central Meteorological Station Thursday afternoon.

The storm, dubbed Megkhla by Thailand, struck Sanya, a famous resort on Hainan Island, at about 6:30 pm (Beijing time) Wednesday, bringing torrential rains to the city.

The station said that the storm center hit Beibu Bay at noon Thursday, and that by 5:00 pm it was located at a position 19.8 degrees north latitude and 108.7 degrees east longitude.

Most southern coastal regions, including parts of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region and Guangdong Province, are expected to experience heavy to torrential rains and gale-force winds Thursday night and Friday, said the station.
