A traffic accident happened Monday evening in east China's Anhui Province killed two persons and injured three others, local police said on Tuesday.

At about 7 PM Monday in Fuyang City, a motor-driven tricycle carrying flour was going south to north on the road, then a truck carrying sand in front suddenly turned around and stopped transversely on the road. The tricycle failed to shun the truck in time and bumped into the truck.

One person on the tricycle was killed on the spot and another died after emergent operation failed in hospital. The accident also left three persons on the tricycle seriously injured.

The truck driver ran away after the accident and is still at large, local police said.
