Ministry of Health Press Release (June 11) on SARS
The Press Office under the Ministry of Health published Wednesday afternoon a press release on the latest SARS situation on the Chinese mainland.

From 10:00 am June 10 to 10:00 am June 11, the Chinese mainland reported 1 new diagnosed SARS case, 96 patients recovered and no death. Beijing reported 1 new diagnosed case (which used to be suspected) and 74 patients recovered. Patients recovered also included 13 from Inner Mongolia, 5 from Shanxi, and 1 each from Hebei, Jilin, Guangdong and Chongqing.

From 10:00 am June 10 to 10:00 am June 11, 2 provinces reported 3 new suspected SARS cases, of which 2 were from Beijing and 1 from Sichuan.

From 10:00 am June 10 to 10:00 am June 11, the Chinese mainland also reported 118 misdiagnosed suspected cases, of which 95 were from Beijing, 15 from Tianjin, 3 from Inner Mongolia, 2 from Guangdong, and 1 each from Shandong, Chongqing and Sichuan. By 10:00 am June 11, the Chinese mainland had a total of 327 suspected cases.

From 10:00 am May 23 to 10:00 am June 11, the Chinese mainland reported a total of 109 diagnosed SARS cases (including 15 new diagnosed cases and 94 patients who used to be suspected cases).

Of these figures,

Beijing reported 13 new diagnosed cases and confirmed 72 suspected cases as SARS patients

Shanxi reported 2 new diagnosed cases and confirmed 3 suspected cases as SARS patients

Hebei reported no new diagnosed case but confirmed 6 suspected cases as SARS patients

Inner Mongolia reported no new diagnosed case but confirmed 7 suspected cases as SARS patients

Liaoning reported no new diagnosed case but confirmed 2 suspected cases as SARS patients

Sichuan reported no new diagnosed case but confirmed 3 suspected cases as SARS patients

Shanghai reported no new diagnosed case but confirmed 1 suspected case as SARS patient

Now 589 patients are receiving treatment in hospitals.

According to the statistics standard of WHO, by 10:00 am June 11, 7 provinces on the Chinese mainland had reported SARS cases. Shanghai, Shanxi and Inner Mongolia had reported no new diagnosed case for more than 15 days; Hebei had reported no new diagnosed case for more than 10 days; Liaoning had reported no new diagnosed case for 8 days, and Sichuan had reported no new diagnosed case for 5 days.
