CPC delegates from the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) have vowed to firmly establish the guiding status of the important thought of Three Represents in the army.
Remarks to this effect were made by Fu Quanyou, Yu Yongbo, Wang Ke, Wang Ruilin, Cao Gangchuan, Guo Boxiong and Xu Caihou when they discussed Jiang Zemin's report to the ongoing 16th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC), which opened on November 8 in Beijing.
They said that the army will unswervingly adhere to the road of fewer but better troops with Chinese characteristics and provide an important guarantee for safeguarding national security and unity and building a well-off society in an all-round way.
The important theories about national defense and army building in Jiang's report have provided a clearer guidance for building a more revolutionary, modernized and regularized army, they said.
The army must always stick to the criterion of battle effectiveness and regard raising its battle effectiveness, especially its defense capabilities and combat effectiveness under high-tech conditions, as the starting point and goal of all its work.
