Shaolin Soccer Best Film at Hong Kong Awards Ceremony
The presentation ceremony of the 21st Hong Kong Film Awards was held here Sunday evening, with "Shaolin Soccer" claiming the laurel of the Best Film.

Stephen Chow, actor and director of the film "Shaolin Soccer," has become the biggest winner of this year's Hong Kong Film Awards. Chow was awarded the Best Actor, the Best Director and the Outstanding Young Director.

Sylvia Chang won the Best Actress for the film "Forever and Ever." The Best Supporting Actor and Actress were awarded to Wong Yat Fei and Karena Lam.

The special award, the Best Asian Film, was claimed by Japanese film "Spirited Away."

Chang Cheh, a veteran director, won the Lifetime Achievement Award. Chang has directed over 90 films and started the trend of new action film. His achievement to Hong Kong cinema is regarded as significant.

Initiated in 1982, the annual Hong Kong Film Awards has witnessed the progress of the Hong Kong film industry for more than 20 years. The awards have brought increasing recognition to the Hong Kong film industry both locally and globally.
