"Like a Virgin", "Human Nature", "Die Another Day", "Ray of Light"... During 111 minutes, Madonna offered her Mexican admirers her classics besides the new hits.

Months earlier, tickets to Madonna's concerts were sold out in less than half an hour. According to local daily "Reforma", many people paid 17,000 pesos (1,340 U.S. dollars), four times more than its original price for the show.

For days, huge images of the "Pop Queen" have occupied local media's social pages; comments on the performance and its likely impact have been heard over Mexico's radio and television.

In her concert, Madonna said she was very happy to be back in front of Mexican public, despite worries by some Mexican critics that American pop culture is threatening to take over the local and original.

Madonna kicked off her "Sticky and Sweet" global tour in Cardiff, Wales, on Aug. 23. After the show in Mexico City, Madonna and her tour staff left for Buenos Aires, the Argentine capital where she is expected to offer two concerts, if not asked for more.
