Song Yuying was elected chairwoman of Hubei Provincial Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) on Wednesday.

The election took place at the first session of the 10th CPPCC Hubei Provincial Committee.

Song, born in 1948, used to serve as chief of women's federation in Hubei, head of the provincial bureau of industry and commerce and head of the organization department of the provincial committee of the CPC.
