Top political advisory body meets

The Standing Committee of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) started its 20th meeting Tuesday.

The meeting was presided over by Jia Qinglin, chairman of the CPPCC National Committee and member of the Standing Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee Political Bureau.

In the coming four days, the participants will discuss and approve a series of decisions regarding the First Plenary Session of the Eleventh CPPCC National Committee, which is scheduled to open on March 3.

They heard a report on the drafting of the Draft Work Report of the Tenth CPPCC National Committee, by Secretary-General Zheng Wantong, and report on the work of proposal of the Standing Committee of the Tenth CPPCC National Committee, by Deputy Secretary-General Yang Zhenjie.

Present at the meeting were vice chairpersons of the CPPCC National Committee Wang Zhongyu, Liu Yandong, Li Guixian, Zhang Siqing, Bai Lichen, Luo Haocai, Zhang Kehui, Zhou Tienong, Hao Jianxiu, Abulaiti Abudurexiti, Xu Kuangdi, Li Zhaozhuo, Huang Mengfu, Zhang Huaixi, Li Meng, Tung Chee Hwa, Zhang Meiying and Zhang Rongming.
