Typhoon Megi, the 13th typhoon to hit China this year, brought economic losses of nearly 2.8 billion yuan (411.7 million U.S. dollars) to east China's Fujian Province, local flood control authorities said Monday.
Of the total economic losses, 149 million yuan were incurred at water control facilities.
As of 8:00 a.m. Monday, 729,800 Fujian residents had been affected, with 313,200 evacuated.
Typhoon Megi destroyed approximately 36,050 hectares of crops and 530 houses while causing 253 enterprises to suspend production.
It made landfall in Zhangzhou City in Fujian at 12:55 p.m. Saturday.
