Chinese shares open higher Thursday

Chinese equities stopped the downward trend of the previous trading days to open higher Thursday with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index rising 0.41 percent, to open at 2,912.2 points.

The Shenzhen Component Index rose 0.61 percent to 11,403 points.
