Chinese shares opened lower on Monday with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index down 0.81 percent, to 3,103.32 points.
The Shenzhen Component Index sank 0.71 percent, to 12,506.14 points.
Poly Real Estate Group Co., Ltd, the country's second largest developer, gained 0.95 percent to 20.16 yuan as of 9:40 a.m. on its Sunday estimation of profit surge by around 50 percent in 2009, boosted by strong sales and rocketing property prices.
