The Press Office under the Ministry of Health published Wednesday
afternoon a press release on the latest
SARS
situation on the Chinese mainland.
From 10:00 am June 17 to 10:00 am June 18, the Chinese mainland
reported no new diagnosed or suspected SARS case, 37 patients
recovered and discharged from hospital, and 1 death. Beijing
reported 34 patients recovered and 1 death; Zhejiang reported 2
patients recovered; and Shanxi reported 1 patient recovered.
From 10:00 am June 17 to 10:00 am June 18, Guangdong reported 2
misdiagnosed suspected cases, and Beijing reported 1 misdiagnosed
suspected case.
Now 210 diagnosed patients are receiving treatment in hospitals on
the Chinese mainland, including 169 from Beijing, 3 from Liaoning,
1 from Sichuan, 17 from Tianjin, 11 from Shanxi, 3 from Guangdong,
2 each from Inner Mongolia and Shanghai, and 1 each from Guangxi
and Chongqing.
The Chinese mainland reported 47 suspected cases, including 4 from
Beijing, 1 from Liaoning, 1 from Sichuan, 29 from Tianjin, 8 from
Inner Mongolia, 3 from Guangdong, and 1 from Xinjiang.
According to the statistical standard of the WHO, by 10:00 am June
18, provinces on the Chinese mainland reporting SARS cases included
Beijing, Liaoning and Sichuan. Beijing had reported no new
diagnosed case for 12 days, and 1 case diagnosed on June 11 had
been ruled out on June 13. Liaoning had reported no local
transmission and no new diagnosed case for 15 days. Sichuan had
reported no local transmission and no new diagnosed case for 12
days.
