The Press Office under the Ministry of Health published Tuesday
afternoon a press release on the latest
SARS
situation on the Chinese mainland.
From 10:00 am June 16 to 10:00 am June 17, the Chinese mainland
reported no new diagnosed SARS case, 69 patients recovered and
discharged from hospital, and no death. The recovered patients
included 67 from Beijing and 1 each from Hebei and Sichuan.
From 10:00 am June 16 to 10:00 am June 17, Beijing reported 2 new
suspected cases, and Guangdong reported 2 misdiagnosed suspected
cases.
Now 248 diagnosed patients and 50 suspected patients are receiving
treatment in hospitals on the Chinese mainland.
According to the statistical standard of the WHO, by 10:00 am June
17, provinces on the Chinese mainland reporting SARS cases included
Beijing, Liaoning and Sichuan. Beijing had reported no new
diagnosed case for 6 days, and 204 diagnosed patients and 5
suspected patients are receiving treatment in hospitals. Liaoning
had reported no local transmission, no new diagnosed case for 14
days, and 3 diagnosed patients and 1 suspected patient are
receiving treatment in hospitals. Sichuan had reported no local
transmission, no new diagnosed case for 11 days, and 1 diagnosed
patient and 1 suspected patient are receiving treatment in
hospitals.
Other provinces reporting diagnosed patients who are receiving
treatment in hospitals included 17 from Tianjin, 12 from Shanxi, 3
from Guangdong, 2 each from Inner Mongolia, Shanghai and Zhejiang,
and 1 each from Guangxi and Chongqing.
Other provinces reporting suspected patients included 29 from
Tianjin, 8 from Inner Mongolia, 5 from Guangdong, and 1 from
Xinjiang.
